Neapolitan Pizza

Soft, airy, leopard-spotted crust from a slow-fermented dough, DOP San Marzano tomatoes and mozzarella di Bufala. Four minutes from the pier, so it arrives the way it left the oven.

The Deli Counter

Prosciutto di Parma, bresaola, speck and mortadella sliced to order. The sandwiches travel well, which makes them the right call for a beach day or a boat.

Roman & Neapolitan Pastas

Cacio e Pepe, Carbonara with guanciale and no cream, Amatriciana, Sunday Sauce. Roman classics at $25, made to order rather than held under a lamp.

Neapolitan pizza a few minutes from the Lauderdale-by-the-Sea pier

If you live in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, we are almost the closest sit-down Italian kitchen you have. Come off A1A onto Commercial Boulevard, head west over the Intracoastal, and we are on the north side just past Bayview Drive — a drive short enough that the pizza is still too hot to cut when you get home.

That proximity shapes how the town uses us. We see a lot of people straight off the beach, still in flip-flops, ordering a Margherita and a Bufalina to share on a Tuesday. We see divers coming back from the shore reef off Anglin’s Pier who want something substantial and do not want to change first. Nobody here has to make an evening of it, and we have never pretended otherwise — the deli counter exists precisely so you can pick up prosciutto di Parma, bresaola and a couple of sandwiches without sitting down at all.

El Prado Park and the pier are the landmarks everyone navigates by, and we are the next thing west once the restaurants along the strip thin out. Where the A1A places are built around visitors on holiday, we are built around the people who stay after the season ends. That is a genuinely different job, and it is the one we set out to do.

The other thing worth knowing: Thursday, Friday and Saturday there is live music with dinner and no cover. For a town this size, an Italian singer four minutes from the pier is not a small thing.

What people from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea order

The Bufalina is the runaway favourite here, and we think the beach explains it. Mozzarella di Bufala is soft, milky and slightly tangy, and it eats well when it is warm out — heavier, richer pies are a harder sell three blocks from the ocean. Second most common is the Caprese, either as the antipasto or as the sandwich.

For groups coming off a boat or back from a dive, the Tagliere is the practical order: a thirty-dollar board of cold cuts and fresh cheeses that feeds four people while the pizzas come out. Add the Bruschetta al Pomodoro and nobody is impatient.

If you are ordering for pickup and it is going to sit in a car for ten minutes, take the sandwiches over the pizza. The Speck with fresh mozzarella and arugula holds beautifully. A Marinara does not.
